She bleeds
But can you find the source of her wounds
The pain that perpetuates inside of her
Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it's gone
She swims in blood
The sea of her despair
But can you save her from a vermillion storm
An acid rain that eats through to her soul
Can you be her protector, can you be her shield
Can she save herself, or will the world go on turning, she wonders
Will the sky fall down and trap her in its eternity
Or will the land rise up to meet the sun to melt away forever, she wonders
Sometimes she is lost, meandering along the craters of the moon
But sometimes, she finds her way along those powder white ridges
So often mistaken for a soft landing, the rocks on which she plays are dangerous - she knows
But she continues, she lives on in her darkened world, treachery lurking about in the light and in the shadows - she is surrounded
When will the cage be opened, she wonders?
Who holds the key to her imprisonment, she wonders?
Little does she know, there is a path for her, if she would only take a step from star to star, leaping to a destination and touching her toes ever so lightly to the glittering promise of hope
A reflection of her smile, embedded into a night sky
Little does she know, it is she who holds the power of three clicks of the heel, instead of her ruby red slippers, her soft, human skin
It is she who will find her way off of the moon, soar into the sky and rain down on the earth in a sparkling blaze of glory and flame
It is she who can, and she who will, be the source of her own salvation
