A month or so ago I indicated some news was being hashed out re the future of several facets of my career, and I’m glad I can finally say that my final two books in my contract with St. Martin’s will be Black London books.

I know that’ll make a lot of readers happy.  It makes me happy.

I finished the edits to Iron Codex II yesterday, as well as typing up a hugely expanded outline for Book 3, and sent them to my editor.  I calculated I added something like 35,000 words to this draft of the novel.  I don’t even know. Bet you thought I disappeared again.  You’d be half-right-I was finishing my zero draft of Devil’s Business, and when you’re spending six-eight hours a day on a novel the urge to blog curls right up and dies.

I’m in the middle of a writer deathmarch right now-I owe Editor Krista a draft of Iron Codex 2 by August 1, and by Steve, I plan to deliver.

This translates into not a lot of online time-if I have a free moment, assume I’m writing.  The drafts of my YA novels tend to be roughly 100k in zero draft form, and grow exponentially from there.

It's raining in New England. There are reports of flooding in Rhode Island, but I'm hoping that living on the side of a hill will put Wayne Manor (the new digs) out of harm's way. I'm taking off shortly to wait for the cable installer, but I'm putting up the New Revised To-Do List. Being effectively offline for a month has been crazy.
