Yeah, so...I seem to have wiped out my old theme and all my settings during a recent update.
I could go get it all back and spend hours putting things back the way they were...but honestly? I was getting tired of that layout anyway.
This one obviously still has some bugs, but don't you love the airplane header??? Who doesn't love antique planes?
Anyway, moving on. I'm going to fiddle around with customization a bit, but at least the site is back and running for the time being.

The more alert among my readers might notice that I've fallen off the face of the earth. Where have I fallen to? Moving stuff, mostly. A much-needed break from the internet. And finishing "The Curse of Four", aka the project that would not end no matter how hard I hit it with a stick.
I finally did end it, and hit about 31,000 words, right on target. I'm actually quite fond of the project. It's a Black London story focusing on Jack, Ollie Heath (Pete's old partner from the Metropolitan Police) and a bunch of very upset and surprisingly familiar ghosts. It'll be out from SubPress some time in late 2010 or early 2011.
Which means I get to do my favorite thing in the entire world, update my project master list:
- Write "The Curse of Four" and adjacent chapbook for SubPress
- Write Bone Gods (Black London #3) and:
- Write Iron Codex Vol. II (title change, seekrit for now) and:
- Write "Behind the Red Door", YA horror short (due March 15.)
- Finish my TV pilot
- Write The Bride (YA option book) and:
- Write Black London #4
- Write Iron Codex Vol. III
- Write the untitled ghost-perfume short for Hex in the City antho
- Write Desolation Row, mashup of The Remains and some new stuff (historical fantasy)
- Write "Bark at the Moon", YA werewolf short
And here's the "Copious Spare Time" projects:
- Write non-specfic noir thingy that actually has an outline now
Finishing off the novella was actually a big deal for me in another way, too--it's the last project that was mired in my whole nervous breakdown/lack of mojo thing from last spring. It was late, but I finished it, and it feels like the weight of that awful, awful time has finally lifted off my chest.
Now I'm actually rather looking forward to finishing all the other stuff on my list.
Blogging to resume in good order next week!
