Dr Horrible Act II. Y'all should be watching
Okay, so apparently the way to make something which was already pretty classic Whedon into blow-your-mind classic Whedon is to darken the whole thing up.
Remember I thought I was in love with Neil Patrick Harris? Not a phase. He completely breaks my heart in the first song. He's just desolate. I love the Act I songs, but this one is bleak and because I am twisted I like it more. To the point where I don't know / If I'll upset the status quo / If I throw poison in the water main. It's depressing as hell and I get that it's not supposed to be a nice line for Dr Horrible, but it's gorgeous. His part and Penny's part go together, because they're sorta two sides of the same coin. They both look at the world and see it as broken, but Penny tries to fix the little things, and Billy wants to 'cut off the head'.
Penny's interesting to me at the minute because there's more going on with her I think than just being the girl of his dreams. She's a very sad young woman, which comes across in her song, even when she's trying to cheer Billy up.
Captain Hammer is really kinda creepy. I know the penis line is a joke, and it's funny, but it's still character-important. He just kind of edged over that line from being smug into being a little bit disturbing. Dr Horrible says, They're probably going to french kiss or something, and Captain Hammer is talking about other kinds of things. Plus, what with my wild NPH love, seeing Neil, who is kind of bitty, getting all thrown around and threatened by Captain Hammer... And he's all beat up in the aftermath blog... :(
The last song reminded me a bit of some of the songs on Flight of the Conchords. But Brother2 - the big fan of that show - isn't so sure. It was mostly at the beginning, with the sing-speaking really fast right at the camera. Then it turns into stomping through tiny streets ;)
Also: When I hand her the keys To a shiny new Australia. With the big chair. :D

Saw some Grey's Anatomy for the first time in a while. The ferry crash. 1) I really want some more intern-orgy fic. 2) I love Cristina more than I should (especially her-and-Meredith). 3) Kyle Chandler's voice does things to me ;)
