Work is going OK. A few weeks ago they changed what we were doing, so instead of listening to music and looking over documents, I'm talking to past-due mortgage clients on the phone :( But hey I have a job! Another thing that is pissing me off though is that they just announced today that we were all being moved out to Bloomington. So goodbye 15 minute bike ride to work, hello 50 minute bus/light rail/walking commute every day. Eeeehh.
Derby is going well though. I got drafted to the team I wanted to, the
Atomic Bombshells!!!!! EEEE!! That is how excited I am. This picture is from the last day of boot camp:
Here are some pictures from the draft party (where we found out what team drafted us):
This is me on stage freaking out that I got drafted to the team I wanted and hugging my new captains. I hear that Mae (my ride/new derby friend who lives close to me) was jumping up and down in the audience. Yaay!!
This is me and the other 2 new rookie Bombshells.
And these are our feet! Hahahahaa. The draft party was so awesome. And I can say for sure that my team are the best dancers :)
Boot camp ended the week before the draft, and there was a break for a few weeks when practice was optional. I hurt my hand and took a week and a half off, but man am I feeling it now! It sucks how behind you can get when you don't exercise/stretch often. Yesterday I ran with Mae and we went to practice at night too. Ow! But I'll catch up soon. I am so excited for this season, everyone thinks our team has a chance to win the championship (for the home season)!
The Minnesota RollerGirls had a booth at the fair and I volunteered for 2 shifts. Mmm fair food. Ask me about my giant banana story too.
I'm really excited about the north central regionals we're hosting next weekend, the Brawl of America. I'm going to see some awesome derby, volunteer at some booths (giving kids black eyes... made of makeup, and working the Women's Flat Track Derby Association merch booth). ALSO on the Saturday of the tournament, the MNRG rookies and NSRG (North Star, the Minneapolis league) rookies will be playing queen of the rink as a pre-show!! This will be my first time in front of a crowd! It will be at 12:20 pm so I doubt there will be many people watching, since it's before the first bout even starts. But sill! Yaay!! I WANNA WIN!!!!! Winner gets prize!!
So right now I'm staying up too late putting together packages I need to send and should have sent long long ago. Sigh.
