That one looks like it will probably be quite suitable for your needs. I'm getting* one with 4GB RAM, but I put mine through their paces rather more thoroughly than I imagine you will. My roommate had a Dell our first couple of years at school, and it was...unreliable, and their tech support was not helpful or especially friendly, but my father has been trying to convince me for a couple of years now that they are infinitely better these days. Apparently he's had the same Dell for his work laptop since they moved down here in '06, and it's still more than serviceable. I'm personally an HP girl, but that's a silly loyalty born of a love for a calculator they haven't made in years [is a huge nerd]
So, I'm gonna say it's probably a good choice for you (and even had a bit of a "Wait a moment, I didn't look at _that_ one yet..." moment myself). And I love the purple.
* This should have been conjugated "have gotten," but we had a repeat of the Hunt for the Wedding Gift this weekend, and some guy bought the last one of the model I decided on a couple of hours before I made it to the store ::coughcoughbecauseIwaswaitingforthehermanatogethomefromchurchcoughcough::
