The images coming out of Japan are devastating. My heart really goes out to them. The Tsunami on our side of the Pacific only did localized damage to marina's and harbors, but for the most part we got lucky. It came in at low tide. Went to Kin-Yoobie con yesterday. Was a nice, albeit very small, anime con at a local college in Hayward.  It was a bit chaotic at first, they had issues getting things set up, but once they got going, it was nice.  dragonscholar  did a panel on Fan to Pro, but they had panelists upstairs in a loft area, that was noisy as all get out.
