A rare political commentary from moi

“People such as scientist Stephen Hawking wouldn’t have a chance in the U.K., where the National Health Service would say the life of this brilliant man, because of his physical handicaps, is essentially worthless.”

The article here has since been edited, but they honestly put that in their editorial. Seriously?

Hawking responded by saying “I wouldn’t be here today if it were not for the NHS. I have received a large amount of high-quality treatment without which I would not have survived.”

I don't necessarily agree with the health care reform that the President is touting, admittedly I haven't read the bill. But when it's opponents say stupid shit like that I tend to wonder if being on the opposite side of the fence from them is not a REALLY GOOD THINGTM

eta:

Glenn Beck is a massive douche.
