Happy freaking birthday to me

Well, today is my 35th birthday.  W00t! I guess.

I found out yesterday one of my oldest friends had a stroke 2 weeks to the day after my mom died of one.  She apparently has a blood condition that lead to the clot in her brain.  She's home, thank god, and apparently recovering well.  Jeeezus.

Then I found out my friend
smithing_chick had collapsed yesterday.  Eeek!  I hope she's ok.

Kinda makes me feel bad to mention, but I actually have some good news...I got a new job.  Well, I got a job, which is very nice after not having one for over a year.  And, its a nursing job.  Well, eventually. Its at a place that does short & long term rehab for brain injuries.  Its pretty cool.   I'm starting out as a rehab tech, but that's only so I can learn the residents, etc.  Then the nurse part of the training will start.  I start tomorrow, & I'm excited & nervous at the same time.  I was really worried because I have to do full-time training & I don't have a babysitter anymore, since a blood clot decided to visit my mom's brain & kill her.  But my friend L. from nursing school is gonna help out.  She lives near the school were Oldest goes, so she's gonna pick him up for the next couple of weeks.  And her daughter J is gonna watch Youngest during the day.  She already watches her 2 nephews & a niece, so she said "what's one more baby."  Thank God!  I was really worried about what to do.  I'll need someone long term but maybe I can get assistance to get him into a daycare or something.  Still, this is a huge help.  Meanwhile, Daughter is gonna walk to my friend H's house after school & her husband is gonna keep her till I can pick her up.  So hopefully this all works out.  Keep your fingers crossed for me.  Does anyone know any full time babysitters?

Oh, & the Steelers gave me a present today by kicking Cleveland's ass!  Go Black & Gold!

Here's to hoping all my friends have smooth recoveries, and to finally making some badly needed money!
