The best movie of 2007.
And nobody even knows it.

The ending of that was satisfying as hell (unlike No Country for Old Men).

i watched that movie over the stream you posted and i thought it was great. those are exactly the kind of movies that need to be made. yeah, i know, it's anti-hollywood hollywood, but that's better than hollywood hollywood. i enjoyed the movie way more than i thought i would have.

J.T. Hague: What's the matter? You don't eat meat?
Cherry Darling: Oh, I eat meat. I also eat lots of shit.
Cherry Darling: [grins] See that?
J.T. Hague: What's that?
Cherry Darling: Shit-eating grin.

I liked Death Proof better ultimately, but Planet Terror was a hell of a ride. I'm so pissed they released them separately on dvd. It was the combination of the two, plus the fake trailers, that really made it.

Are you looking for horror recs specifically or any genre?
If the first -
Dog Soldiers
The Descent
Dawn of the Dead (1978)
The Brood (1979)
From Dusk Till Dawn (another Rodriquez/Tarantino collaboration; i really fucking love this movie)
The Evil Dead movies + Bruce Campbell vs Army of Darkness
Cube

Sweeney Todd and I Am Legend are both worth seeing in the theater, I think.

Any genre actually, but these horror flicks will do too. Thanks.

I've seen Legend, but not Sweeney, yet.

I was just about to recommend The Descent.

Just make sure it's the unrated version, which has a more fitting ending, rather than the focus-groups-are-pussies ending that the other version has.

had you been reading my LJ for the past year, you'd see that I constantly reference Planet Terror. I had a chance to see Grindhouse at the drive-in, BUT IT WAS FOILED. I will never forgive people for that. Did you watch the theatrical version, with the missing reels and the fake previews? IT WAS THE BEST THING EVER to see in the theater, especially followed by Deathproof with less boredom than it came out with on DVD.

"I never miss"

Yes, I saw it in theaters. It was amazing. I was actually late the first time around and missed the intro up until the point where Naveen Andrews cuts off the guys balls. Machete was definitely my favorite trailer.

Best funny horror movie I've ever seen was Shaun of the Dead. If you enjoyed Planet Terror, you'd LOVE Shawn!

El Wray: There's no use crying over, uhh, spilled milk...
Cherry: I'M MISSING MY FUCKING LEG.

That and the brain-eating line are probably my favorites. I really fucking love that movie.

I was originally trying to wait until the "ultimate box release set" of both movies that I know is coming, but I broke last week and bought Planet Terror for $15. It is pretty fucking good, but I don't think it's as good on TV as it was in the theater.

Yes, they need to include ALL of the trailers. Not just that first one. I rarely buy DVD's but this is actually one that I'm going to buy.

It pisses me off that Planet Terror only has ONE trailer on it. Arguably, it's the best trailer, but still...

Does anyone know how many trailers are on Death Proof?
