My return to LJ is prompted by the loss of a huge Kate Bush fan and a great human being: Rachel Lisi,
kundavega here on LJ. Here's a tribute I posted earlier on my blog at Hyves:
Rachel Anne Lisi 1970-2010
Years ago I became a member of the Homeground/Kate Bush News & Information Forum after its inception in order to chat with other fans about Kate Bush and - as the wait for a new album went on and on - about anything and everything.
Rachel was also one of the members of the first hour and soon we became part of a tight-knit people we considered friends which connected people from all around the globe. True friendships ensued and Rachel with her strong opinion and great sense of humour soon became one of my favourite forum members. That was largely due to posts like this one in a discussion about the latest Kate Bush album, Aerial:
I just want to say I do not trust anyone who does not like Nocturn or chocolate. There I said it ;-)

Rachel
She often got into trouble with people due to her directness but I always liked her very much especially for her just stating her opinion and not giving a damn that some people may not be able to handle that. That was the way she was and people just had to get used to it. Very unamerican but personally I like that kind of attitude. At least you know what to expect. She also peppered her posts with curse words which got censored and which often made me chuckle, like in this discussion of the song "King of the Mountain":
This may be serious delayed reaction, but I JUST now heard the haunting wind bv sounds when she is singing "the wind is whistling" the second and third time. Holy @#%$. See this is what I mean about Kate's music. It is just so @#%$ well crafted.
A few years ago she got into a fight with another member and, hot-headed as she could be, she decided to leave. I was devastated and missed her terribly. Thankfully we could keep in touch through Facebook. I was very happy for her when about a year and a half ago she posted "I think I'm in love and it's scary". I was so happy for her that she had found a soulmate. As time went by we kind of fell out of touch as it often goes, especially in internet friendships.
Now I so regret that. Because last week, two days before her 40th birthday, Rachel passed away. My thoughts go out to her parents and brother who she left behind. I still can't believe she's gone. She was a very talented girl, wrote
beautiful poetry and was a very skilled
semi-professional photographer. I'm going to miss her so very much.
No Dream Hover
I had no dream-hover
I found a fetish underneath my pillow
True blue blood-lover
I dug deeper into the mattress
Nails and fiber-tugger
My fingers roots and heart-hugger
I dug deeper and deeper and deeper
‘til my bed was my keeper
And whispered, sleep...here...sleep...her...
So I then crawled into slumber
And after three, after seven, after nine
I came to awaken and prepared to dine
There were the Ladies at one end
Passing dishes made of a bend, a mend
and seasoned with reasons and treasons
and herbs and excuses and juices
And muses danced to a gargled growl
Mighty howl
I ate some seconds, fourths then sixths
Saw her weaving on the Styx
Asked her what the cloth might be
She said the fabric was my she
What was meant was it was me
Inside the pattern was a tree
And there I stood plain to see
Upon my tongue there was a pea
Sweet and plump and little round
The cloth it made but not a sound
Around my neck this shawl was placed
My breasts and shoulders held the lace
And seen the smile creep on her face
When melt you into woven thread
is when he’ll strike and you’ll be dead.
Sure enough I heard the gong
And ten, eleven, twelve...
...
...
My me was gone....
