Remember Candace's understanding of events wherein Anthony seemed to be grimly amused by this. There is something manipulative and weird about him.....and I'm not just talking about his storming off to 'beg' dough-head with Daddy Issues Gord for a job because he stamped his feet on the ground and had a tantrum because Daddy expected him to go halfsies on his first car. A man like him would say that it's a strike against Hawkeye Pierce that he's deliberately kind to those beneath him.
And besides, Dawn remembers that Liz is too Liz to ask for the other person's side of the story. Case in point, Mike's being a shit to Martha because he was so awesome a writer that she didn't want to make herself look bad
I'll always believe that Martha's "I was intimidated by Michael's writing skills" was just blowing smoke up Michael's a$$ and instead she just had better things to do than spend her summer replying to endless "this is how amazing I am" missives from a self-absorbed jagoff madly in love with himself.
Remembering all of the crazy personal interactions, the games, and the heartbreaks of high school, took me back to some intensely emotional times. It was interesting to know that the experiences I’d had were still being talked about when I wrote these strips!
hints at my fear that Lynn is stupid enough and vain enough to believe that she is the only child who ever has or ever will feel fear, heartache and anxiety.
I'm confused by "It was interesting to know that the experiences I’d had were still being talked about when I wrote these strips." Does she mean people she knows talking about Lynn's specific experiences? Or does she mean a more vague "things that teenagers go through" and a more vague "people out there talking about things"?
She gives me the impression that she is a complete, knuckle-dragging imbecile who thinks that the problems of childhood vanished forever when she got hitched. I think it's both.
