I had planned to build a new studio computer over Christmas break, but various parts shortages prevented this. I've concluded that I could probably go ahead and build the computer now, but it is not going to be cheap and I can't get all of the parts that I want anywhere from the look of things.

After further consideration and consulting with Gretchen and Sam, the latter of whom was going to go to Confusion with me to help with the table there, I've decided not to try to attend Confusion this January. It is just going to be too much work for too little reward overall.

It turns out that, although not officially supported, my copy of Cubase Elements 10 seems to be running on Windows 11. (My copy of Wavelab Elements 9, not so much, but it is a few releases behind.) The new recording laptop has arrived and appears to be working just fine.

Except that it has downloaded and installed Windows 11. This would *also* be fine (probably), except that I never upgraded the Cubase Elements on the laptop from 10.5 to 11, and 10.5 does not appear to be compatible with Windows 11. I could simply upgrade Cubase Elements to ( Read more... )

I now have seven boxes of Quest CDs in my living room.

Assuming that I'm at OVFF, they'll be there too. :)

I got the notification that the Quest CDs have shipped today. This means they should be here by the end of the week.

Fingers crossed!

Corrected one minor error on the submission of Quest and it is now off to production.

Got my COVID booster shot today, having just recently moved into the correct timeframe for that.

And spent some time exhuming some *very* old tasks that need to be sorted out so that they can be handled.

Overall, a good day spent not at work (mostly). :)
