There's no doubts to be had about that.
They still solve crimes, they still have breakfast lunch and dinner... and they still do things together. The only difference is that now, there is something new. Some sort of unspoken, indescribable tension that lines every word and rests under every hesitance.
Smiles take on new meanings and touches, eventhough they still send sparks, tend to have so much more gravity.
It's as if the ground they're walking on could crumble at any given moment-- give way from underneath their feet and pull them into the depths of the Earth.
And if that were to happen... would he and Bones find their way out of it and back to each other again?
He shakes his head.
He just really doesn't know anymore.

They are slow dancing.
There's too much space between them; there's hurt in her eyes and his heart and as much as they just want to go back to the way things once were, it feels like all they're doing by being together is hurting.
Hurt. Hurt. Hurt.
And hurt.
But then he thinks about not seeing her-- not being even close to her general proximity.
And all that does is hurt him so much more.
He doesn't know if he's happy or sad when the dance ends and the space between them becomes even bigger.
But then, stars fall and she gets this sad little look in her eyes; reminds him that she's Bones and that, as much as he can try, he's never really going to stop loving her.
So he pulls her close; smiles a smile she can't see.
And things?
They start to feel alright again.
