So I'm pretty steamed...the CEO called me into the conference room to have a quick sit down with me.... mentioned that a 'few' people have complained about the way I am on the phones, that I'm 'short' with them and rude. This was the second time he mentioned this to me... and the second time I had to point out that the other half of the office gets nothing but glowing reports about the way I answer the phones!! Frankly I am pissed that anyone is saying anything negative... I am nothing but curtious and professional when answering the phones. The only thing I can figure is that I will not 'socialize' with them when they call in. If they don't identify themselves it isn't my deal, I do my job and find who they're looking for. I dont want to loose my job because of some dumbasses who are ticked because I am not treating them like royalty. OR because when I have 3 lines ringing at once I can't sit there while you hum and haw about who you need to talk to. If you don't know the last name, or even the first name of who you are looking for I am going to assume you are just a sales call. what do you expect?
anyway had to rant. so what do I do? Joe says I should just ask the CEO what he wants me to say on the phones...because i'm completely flabbergasted about this whole ordeal!!
