Calvin is all over the place right now and it's driving me insane. I don't know how many times I have to say, "Stop bouncing that ball in the house" before he actually stops. God, I sound like my mom.

And really, I don't know why I bother busting my ass to clean up around here if it's  only going to remain clean for a few short minutes. Calvin comes home from school, dumps his backpack in the middle of the floor, kicks off his shoes, and pulls all the papers out of his school folder and tosses them in a pile on the floor. Then he puts on a pair of sandals and his sunglasses, grabs my keys, and goes downstairs to check the mail. He comes in with the mail, looks it over, and says, "Junk mail, junk mail, junk mail" and tosses each one onto the floor, along with his sunglasses and sandals. Then he turns on the TV, pulls out all kinds of toys, plays with said toys and tosses them to the side before he runs off to get even more toys.

I looked up from reading twitter to find all the above mentioned items strewn around the livingroom, and I nearly have a heart attack. I yell at him and tell him to pick up all his crap, making sure to specify exactly what needs to be picked up, and I watch as he picks it all up and dumps it on the couch. Oh. My. God.

Now he's running around swinging a Batman sword around, a sword that makes noise with every bit of movement, doing somersaults, and saying he "needs to kill all the zombies".

Wesley is making daily trips to a friends house to feed and walk his dog while that friend is out of town. Today he said he would take Calvin with him. I can't wait until he picks him up so I can have a moment of peace and quiet! When they get home I might take a nice long shower just to squeeze in a few more moment to myself.

It's days like this when I can really appreciate my mom. I don't know how she managed to raise four rambunctious children on her own without killing us.
