Oh, hello livejournal!

About a month ago we got a new baby kitten (Athena) and we weren't sure how Pi was going to react. He seemed quite interested in her and would play and wrestle around with her. I thought it was a successful introduction, but now I'm not so sure.

The animals always greet me when I get home, but for the past couple of days Pi isn't anywhere in the open when I come through the door. I literally have to spend half an hour searching for him. Yesterday I found him laying in the back of Calvin's closet. I figured he just needed a break from the baby cat and was hiding out, so after some quality time petting him I left. When I went to bed hours later he was still there. I have no idea if he ate or used the bathroom. I don't think so because I hadn't seen him come out.

Today I came home and found him sleeping on the floor in the bedroom. I closed the door so we could have some time alone without the attention whoring baby, sat down next to him to pet him, and he started growling at me. I tried talking to him to soothe him, but he wasn't having any of that. He got up and moved so he was no longer within arms reach and growled again. I got up to leave and I guess he thought I was trying to get close again because he retreated under the bed.

WTF? Did he suddenly decide to be mad at us for bringing another cat home, or is he just not feeling well? Wesley doesn't seem to think anything is wrong with him and thinks I'm silly for worrying.
