Renting out a house sounds like a good idea, until you have to do it in a crumby economy.  Summer at the beach is a go if I can find someone to rent my main house.  So far, the pickin's are slim.  I wouldn't rent a bird cage to some of the characters that have come by interested in renting.  A lot fewer people looking into renting this year as well ( Read more... )

This actor was a childhood favorite and star of Doctor Who.  I really enjoyed this interview, but was a tad taken aback to hear my beloved childhood hero talking about his man stick.

The trick about these HGTV shows is that they have a TEAM of people who transform a property in two days.

Team "me" cannot get all this crap done.  The lackluster contractors I am meeting leave me underwhelmed.  Next time I buy a place I am going to simply set aside 50K and give the crews marching orders and then plan to move in 4 months later.

After long consideration I have decided to buy a beach house from a friend who is liquidating his assets.  The place is perfect with a view of the ocean and enough privacy that I don't have a bunch of beach strangers wandering through my backyard ( Read more... )
