Had a great weekend at Fan Expo here in Toronto. Got to see panels with Jamie Bamber (so sweet and lovely), Jon Bernthal and Norman Reedus (both hilarious and awesome), and my absolute favourite person of the weekend: John Barrowman. I just finished watching Torchwood: Children of Earth, aka S3. TW always had a sort of goofy quality to it, what with the cheap British sci-fi special effects, the James Marsters appearances and John Barrowman's hammy tendencies. Space aired the first two eps of TW S2 on Friday, and I can see a big improvement in the writing. Funnier quips, etc. Despite the presence of wee manwhore James Marsters in the premiere, I enjoyed the eps very much. I quite enjoyed this interview with the creator and cast of SCC. Shirley Manson's Scottish accent is so lovely. Also, I love the bit with Summer and Thomas where she already knows who's going to die. Hee.

Does anyone happen to have Torchwood S1 uploaded on a server? The uploads I can find are either Megaupload (so I can only do one ep a day), or uploads where the episodes are split into seven parts, which is just such a pain in the butt. I went to the video store, but the discs are rented.

Help?

Torchwood season two starts on Space Network August 8th, so I'm going to have to get on that S1 viewing. I know my video store has it, but how does a 13-episode season get spread out on seven DVDs? Sheesh. Way to pad it out, BBC. I was hoping I could rent three discs and be done with it. Still, John Barrowman's awesomeness shall make it worth it ( Read more... )
