OLTL's gays have totally overtaken Luke and Noah in a daring bid for my affection. I am so loving Kyle and Oliver! OLTL is just a much, much better show in general, and the gay storyline is so well acted and written. Plus, it features LYING-DOWN KISSING IN BED AND THEY ACTUALLY CAN SAY THE WORD S-E-X! It's amazing.
The whole Mason storyline on ATWT was just stupid and boring and went nowhere, and the Noah blindness story is just Luke's paralysis in reverse. YAWN. I'm still watching because I have very fond nostalgic feelings for Luke and Noah (and Van and Jake), but I'm not really invested anymore. Meredith Hagner is leaving the show and now they're relaunching Jack/Carly in the most annoying way possible (poor Janet!) and I'm just very meh about Oakdale of late. At least Van got a bit of a haircut. That's something.
ETA: Of course I posted this the same time they announced
As the World Turns just got the axe. Sure, it's been meh, but I'm still sad. 54 years! I hate seeing daytime soaps die like this.

In other news, my parents ordered Indiscreet from Amazon.com and although the CC was clearly visible on the package in the product shot, it actually isn't captioned. Grrrr! The same thing happened with The Grass is Greener, which is also part of the "Cary Grant Collection" that Artisan put out. I'd bought that here so it was easy to return, and we thought it was just a fluke (plus the other movie had already been delivered). I guess they were going to caption but then didn't.
Artisan was bought out by Alliance Atlantis and they have no contact info on their site (so annoying!), so I figured we might as well write Amazon. I logged in as my Mom and told them that although we'd had the movie delivered to the States (to avoid duty and high shipping charges,
queenofthorns was kind enough to repackage and mail the movies to my parents), we were in Canada and was it possible to return the movie or would we have to pay postage, etc. The next day Amazon just refunded my parents the money. I have to say, despite how annoying Amazon can be, they do have good customer service sometimes! I'm impressed.
