I'm home.

Katelyn and I moved back in to Sypherd yesterday. our stuff was barely moved in, let alone put away, and we both said "this feel like our room." it's so good to be back here with her. and I love this room. we left the layout as the boys left it, which leaves me with a little corner, mostly boxed in by my bed, desk, dresser and wall. but there's a window right next to my desk, which is pushed back from the wall, so there's a little cubby for my metal cubes. I tried putting my dresser in there, but it was just barely too big. it's really open though....well, not spacious, but airy. the fact that we have 2 windows helps a lot.

I actually decorated my room for once too, lol. next to my desk I have my Australia postcards, a bunch of pictures from senior yr and a few other odds and ends, plus the January picture from my Chronicles of Narnia calender-Lucy opening the wardrobe. fitting picture for January, and a fitting picture for this semester. a new beginning.

oh, and there's now a big poster of a pint of Guiness above my desk. 40 days until it's legal for me to drink one :-D

Ilyse lives on the first floor. stopped by and talked with her for a bit. hopefully we'll see each other a lot more this semester! I haven't seen her much since freshman year. it was really good to see her today. she's a lot of fun. :)

went to dinner tonite and watched a movie with Katelyn, Rachel, and Christina...the four apartment mates! :) it'll be a lot of fun, I think. oh, I can't wait!

in nerd-news, I met with my research prof today. changed my topic-now I'm doing Chaucer and his deptiction of the afterlife. I'll probably be researching the Middle Ages and death in general, which was a fairly important topic when you consider the plague. he got me started on a lot, which is good because the scholarship application is due March 1. 2-3 pages of my proposal! aaaaah! scary stuff. it'll work out really well though since I took Renaissance Europe last semester, which in the beginning dealt with death and the plague, and this semester I'm taking Medieval Europe. with this topic, I don't just study Chaucer, but Dante and Boccaccio, and maybe some other prominent authors as well. the literature nerd and historian in me unite! :)

first day of class tomorrow.....I have film, the Bible as Lit, and Physical Science. hoooray!
