She’s cold. Her head hurts. She’s hungry. Really hungry.

But Vicki does her best to push those thoughts aside as she runs. The perks, as Damon called them, weren’t so bad. Maybe it would only get better, though she imagines it would be the latter. The brisk air of the night keeps her hair behind her as she does her best to navigate at such a speed. It was a thrill, something she’d never experienced before. And while she didn’t want it to end right away, she knew she had things she had to do.

Matt. She needed to see Matt; to be home and be ok. Maybe pretend this never happened, for as long as she could, anyway.

But when she stops running at warp speed, she takes a moment to look around. This isn’t the house she shared with her brother. This isn’t the house Stefan tried to keep her in or that her boyfriend lives in. This isn’t Mystic Falls. There isn’t any mist or trees or anything familiar. She doesn’t recognize any of the buildings around her and this makes her brows furrow in irritation and confusion. Was this some sick joke?

Slowly, she allows her body to move to look over her shoulder, though she almost ends up turning around completely.

“Matt?” Her voice is a little shaky and the feelings she’s had since this ordeal were only getting stronger. She was starving. “This isn’t funny!” Even though it’s probably not a joke. At least, she hopes it isn’t.
