YAY ODED FEHR!!1! fucking love that guy. he makes innuendo happen all the time. "you have great interpersonal skills." yum.

i already shipped auggie/jai. now i WICKED ship auggie/jai. i never loved sendhil ramamurthy on heroes, but jesus god do i love him on this show. and he and auggie just have the best snarky chemistry. i love how they constantly rip into each other yet have each other's backs. why is there not more fic of them, gahhh.

though i have to say... i can never decide how i feel about the back-and-forth they do with annie's level of competence / badassery. like, she's obviously wicked smart, but then she lets oded steal the card out of her pocket? i'm not a cia operative and *i* knew that was a ruse. then she goes all badass to rescue him, but he's the one who has to shoot the guy who was about to kill her? idk... i get that they're trying to show that she's young and inexperienced, but i would like to see her "saved", if she needs saving, by other women sometimes.

so my job is doing this awesome campaign for marriage equality in the USA (link here) and today i had this really creepy experience where a group of young teenage girls (i'd put them at 13, maybe some were 12, some 14) came in wearing t-shirts from a christian summer camp, they were obviously not from around here. i showed them a few things and then mentioned the campaign, and most of them had no real response, but one of them was like... she was making faces the entire time i was talking and then when i was done she was like "can i just, like, ask a question? what's the point, cus like, marriage is between a man and a woman..." and i explained that it was the legal standpoint that we're trying to address, the inequality of civil rights, and when i mentioned adoption rights i could read her lips as she muttered over me, "they shouldn't be able to adopt anyway." and then she asked me if lush ever did anything supporting pro-life causes, because didn't we care about unborn babies' rights. and like... honestly it's not her views that bothered me. i've known people with those views all my life; i was raised catholic and went to catholic school for 7 years. but it was the fact that she is 13 and therefore clearly representing views that are not things she's thought about, but things that have been instilled in her from her parents. and i just wanted to be like, oh honey, i know right now you think you're only going to ever have sex with your husband after you're married and you'll never have to deal with this, but when you're 17 and in love w/your boyfriend and you end up knocked up because condoms are sinful, you might sing a different tune. and like, please for the love of christ educate yourself before you have the power to vote.

...actually what i almost said was "well, between me and my coworker and the 8 of you there are 10 women in this room, which means that statistically 2 of us are lesbians. i know about me, so, any of you guys want to speak up?"

but i didn't say it. cus like... i like my job. >.>;;;

anyway. that's my story. tomorrow's my day off and i have so much to do, but it'll be nice to be able to do it from home. namely i have a lot of writing to do; the universal constant deadline is looming and i have been ignoring it in favor of an x-men prompt from the meme that has totally devoured my brain, so... i need to not do that.
