I've finally arrived safe and sound in Memphis, TN after a long couple of flights. The first was uneventful up until some scary turbulence as we were crossing the international dateline, but for the most part I slept. Well, I will be leaving soon! The movers came this morning an hour ahead of schedule which threw me into a panic in order to throw on decent clothes before they walked in the door. Last week, we had the pleasure of housing our good friend Josh for a week while he took a vacation to Japan. When we arrived at my dad's house, we instantly hooked into the internet. My mom's house has been internet challenged for my entire life as no one wants to pay for an expensive cable line to run down our street. Now that I've fully kicked jet lag's butt, I can sit down and write about our trip the the US for a while without fading in and out of consciousness. We started our trip with a grueling, non-stop 12 hour flight from Tokyo to Washington, D.C.. This past Tuesday, I had the pleasure of accomplishing one of my life's goals: to see a 1/1 scale model of a Gundam robot. The next morning, Kevin and I woke up super SUPER early so he could get back to the ship in time. Well, sorry about not posting much. There really hasn't been much going on since the 4th of July. No outings of any note; just hanging out and relaxing.
