No thanks, this is why I don`t play organized sports

Oct 09, 2010 20:20

Some sneaky and awfully convincing coworkers (damn those litigation lawyers!) managed to rope me into a flag football tournament organized by the Young Bar Association of Montréal. Me. Football. Oh wait, lemme specify. AMERICAN football. (No tackling though, thank Paolo.)

One outrageously early Saturday morning wake-up call, lots of coffee, some last-minute `splaining about the game and its rules (rushing, safety, punt...huh?) and FOUR HOURS OF GAMES later, I am now very very tired and very very VERY sore. I was basically useless as a player, my only function being to fulfill the girl quota of the mixed teams requirement. My legs are DEAD from all the sprinting/stopping/running in weird patterns/stopping again. Owie ow ow. This is gonna be painful in the morning. ;_;

The original plan this weekend was to catch up on sleep, celebrate the (almost) end of midterm week and then laze around surfing the net. Instead, I find myself playing flag football of all things and pulling extra hours at the office. Sigh.

Oh well, at least I got three free meals out of today? And tomorrow there`s brunch with the montreal_fandom peeps, yay!

(P.S. How can it be so sunny yet FREEZING in Montreal??!)

on the job(s), mah f-list is awesome, montreal...c'est ma ville, the great outdoors, i'm afraid of the ball dammit
