Weekend at home.

Still recovering from Egil's. We'll be done once the pottery gets washed & the sleeping bags make it out of the living room. It was good, but felt almost rushed. Over way too soon. I went out today & found replacements for the 20 year old black rubber boots I stole from my brother after he outgrew them.

I had a lovely time at the Koran spa Friday with fjorlief. Today I spent most of the morning sleeping. I managed to pass out last night without the CPAP & I am paying for it today.

We got 1 day of sun Saturday and kargashina helped me paint my box chair. I am so glad I dropped a blue tarp over the pieces before bed last night as it was pouring when I got up. Unfortunately I realized today that I bought a mix of oil base paint & latex. Aargh! I'll need to buy more paint before I can finish this project. Bah!

She also helped me modify a blouse pattern. I have a lovely blouse with a v neck & collar, 3/4 vented sleeves and darts so it fits right in all the right places. It no longer fits due to a combo of shrinkage on it's part & growth on mine. The new fabric is a similar white on black damask. The original was black on white. I'm doing cutting & sewing on that today while gamers are here playing the kind of conquer the world map strategy games I don't particularly like.

Another back burner project I may work on if I get bored with the blouse is a new bag for SCA. I've been looking into the bag found at the Swallowcliffe down burial. There's not enough of the original left to be sure if it was leather or textile, so I've been playing with mockups in cheap felt until I get one I like the feel of. The fastening is really odd.
