I did the .44 mile loop today. I'll be adding some distance the next time I walk. Which may or may not be tomorrow - depends on how much rain we actually get, when it arrives, and when it leaves. Rain is good - they announced today that we're officially in a drought watch.
I was a little late getting out today.
chryssalys was a bit late getting home, and I couldn't feed the dogs until she got back with the dog food. My bad - I thought there was enough. As we unloaded the van, she stopped and said "Hi, bunny!". The bunny had been resting in the shade of our clematis, until he decided he was too close. Then he zipped across the street and watched us from the curb. He was still there when I went in to take care of the dogs.
After they'd all been fed, Manny and I left for our walk. The bunny was nowhere to be seen. For the first part of our walk, I saw no one and nothing interesting. When we got to the park, there was a man and his son tossing a baseball back and forth on the baseball diamond behind the library, which was dark and closed. The local park hosts large numbers of Little League games every summer - they have at least three diamonds, and probably more. We can hear them over at the house when they cheer.
We continued our walk uneventfully, except for my puffing and the sweat pouring down my face. It was hot and humid here today. I saw several pairs of robins in various yards, but that was it. Manny sniffed the first two pine cones in the street, but then trotted right past the next three, which earned him a 'Good boy!'. And then he had to sniff the last one. Go figure.
And just cause I need to brag about them, I finished my second pair of socks today, the one in the Ohio Sunset colorway. They're blocking right now, and in a few weeks, they'll be in the county fair.
