I hate you, UPS.
I got the new computer today, plugged in everything and switched it on...nada. Several parts of the computer had been dislodged during shipping, put those back, checked everything...things seemed fine, aside from the sutter on start up. Pleased, I went to dinner, I came back a couple of hours later to find the computer off, confused, I turned it back on...the fans and everything start up, but the computer doesn't boot. Doug, my other roommate, popped the lid, his assessment, is that the motherboard is damaged and no longer working.
Now, the computer was working just FINE before it was shipped, my mother's friend made sure everything was in working order, even played WoW on it for awhile. Now, that's it's got to me, it's borked and utterly useless with a busted motherboard. I'll have to deal with UPS tomorrow to see if they'll take responsibility for the damages and hopefully pay up on the repairs. I'm so fucking mad right now, I can't see straight. (It's funny how the box was marked 'fragile' but looked like it had been repeatedly punted and sat on.)
