Had fun at the Celtic Fe4stivalo today- while it wasnt TRF, it was a good 'fix', as it were. Bought two new books; "Patterns for Theatrical Costumes", which features lots of detail AND basic patterns for Ancient through 1915, and also Allison Weir's "Henry VIII, the King and his Court". so, i tried on the dress last weekend, and i'm happy to say the alterations will be about $150 or so- yay! I'm going to try to lose about 5-10 pounds, simply because the dress fits, but is pretty tight- I'm also gonna get a Spanx shaper to slim things down a bit too- I want the bodice fitted, but NOT so tight the fabric is straining!

so, our trip to TRF is in 3 weeks. In that time, I still have to:

buy a basket, make a cover and a concealment area

sew 2 new pairs of drawers

sew Mitchell's fancy garb

take in the failed blue and brown italian

make another chemise

attempt to do the blue velvet dress??? Not likely for this year *sigh* because i have no dress form and I would need to redo ( Read more... )
