Updatish thing

so, i tried on the dress last weekend, and i'm happy to say the alterations will be about $150 or so- yay! I'm going to try to lose about 5-10 pounds, simply because the dress fits, but is pretty tight- I'm also gonna get a Spanx shaper to slim things down a bit too- I want the bodice fitted, but NOT so tight the fabric is straining!

Only 4 months to go- nerves are starting to kick in, especially as there are factors in our lives which make it very hard at the moment to plan anything.

at least i am still employed here- my fear is that i wills end out the invitations then get fired at the last moment, and have no place for our guests and no place for the wedding and no idea how to tell them, oops, sorry, wedding is at my mom's house now... there are changes being made, though, that make me feel a lot more stable, and that's a good thing.

Going to Faire next weekend, the weekend, apparently, no one else is going, and i havent made Mitchell's fancy garb yet- i'm a bad wifey. I could probably get it together between now and then, though. I have my chemises done, well, almost (the uber sheer embroidered one needs the drawstring and channel put in, but that's it) and I need to make one pair of drawers... Mitchell's stuff shouldnt be too difficult...

Did I mention i'm getting a dressmakers dummy for christmas?? My mom insists on naming her 'Rosie' as she reminds her of the housekeeper from the Jetsons! It's just a Dritz My Twin, which I hear has a pretty unpinnable surface and is difficult to adjust, but as i will only need to set her to my size, that's not a huge deal- i'm also thinking i will make it a quasi "Perfect Fit" by covering her in fiberfill and making a cover for her- that way i CAN pin her, and she'll squish (a little) when corseted... the Perfect Fits were the same price, but they dont make one big enough for me...
