I know haven't posted a lot recently, but that's because not a lot has been going on. My summers just been quietly winding down and I leave for college in just over a week. I got a little bit of help with my tuition for Western today. I got a notice in the mail that I had gotten a $500 scholarship from the school. This is great because any little bit will help me get my schooling paid for. Now there's only $13,000 to go for tuition and housing. Let's hope I get some more scholarships and grants.

I opened my mail this afternoon and what did I find? An acceptance letter to Western Washington University! I am soooooo happy that this came! Plus, not only was I accepted, I was accepted with distinction. That means that I was singled out as being a great candidate for financial aid and excelling at Western. So I finally got my application into Western Washington University. I finished the essay Sunday night and submitted the whole thing yesterday. Now I get to wait for them to reply. Yay. I got my grades from the last quarter today. I got two A's, two A-'s and a pass in my T'ai Chi class! I cheer because I thought that my art class and my American Lit. class were going to be B's. But no, I managed to scrape up an A- in both. Praise be to half-hearted cramming, extra credit quizzes, and finals.

So I got my SAT scores back today. I got a 1970 overall! I got 670 in reading, 640 in math, and 660 in writing including an 8 on my essay. I'm really happy about this. I can get into pretty much any college in my area and I don't really have to take the test again, unless I wanted to. Which I so don't. That was not a fun way to spend a Saturday. ( Read more... )
