New Years

Well its New Years Day! It's hard to believe where the time goes. Yesterday was my birthday. My husband did his best to make up for the fact that almost everyone else forgets...and yesterday was no exception.

We had spent the night before having dinner with Louise and her gorgeous family. We had such a great night and ended up doing karaoke with her kids until the wee hours of the morning. I won and made Claire cry, but it was super-fun. Needless to say I woke up on my birthday feeling a little the worse for wear.

Greg made me smoked salmon and eggs and then left me to recover while he went and fed Indi. He then packed me off the to the spa for a swedish massage and a facial. This was the best birthday gift ever, or so I thought. After I was done I walked out of the door of the spa to see Greg and my friend Kirsty standing in the parking lot with a horse with a big ribbon and bow around his neck! Can you believe this? I had looked at this horse a couple of times and I really wanted him but just hadn't gotten around to making it happen. There was a lot of guilt involved. Anyway - now he's mine. He is a palomino quarter horse and he is just beautiful. He's a little smaller than Harvest and obviously we haven't connected yet. But I'm thrilled. He is also trained in Parelli - which is natural horsemanship, and he is all on hand singles and cues and can do anything with these signs. I rode him today with a rope halter and a lead rope. He's a little skinny for comfortable bareback yet, but we will get there.

I was very worried about how Indiana would cope with the competition but so far it seems he couldn't care less. I'm trying very hard for him to not feel left out.

So way to go Greggles - how fabulous is he?

I had been watching video footage of Renee and I riding Harvest and Bear in the lake at camp and had been very melancholy. So the timing was really great.

New Years Eve was spent with Susan and Brian and was very fun. Susan made a fabulous baked dinner for my birthday and then we did birthday cake and watched the fire works. It was a perfect way to spend the night as I am so not up for the crowds and the drama. It was a great night with great friends.

I think that's all my news! Happy New Year everyone! May all of your dreas come true!
