One day this week, I came out in the morning to go to work, and as I get near the car, I hear squirrels arguing. Several squirrels shoot out from under the vehicle in all directions. As I round the left front quarter-panel, I still hear some chattering and screaming, and I can see that there's a squirrel perched on the left front tire, and he was giving his fleeing fellows what-fer from his wheel-well.
"Hey," I said, "Get OUTTA there! SHOO!" The best part was he hesitated before he jumped down; should I fight the human!? When you have to get that ugly to gain control of a space, you don't want to give it up. I'm not sure I want to know what they were congregating in my car for, however. One spring, after it had sat for a few weeks, there was a collection of cherry pits on top of the engine, as if someone had had a little fruit party and stored the empties, or maybe cherry stones are edible to rodents? I dunno.
