Butthurt Republicans Blame the Moral Failings of Those Other Guys

Nov 09, 2012 08:37

Republican pundits, full of butthurt, review the election loss of Mitt Romney to Barack Obama, in an article in Salon below. What strikes me is this:

There is an ugly assumption that people who want the government to provide more human services are, of course, thinking of services for themselves. Really? Really? Did it ever occur to you that ( Read more... )

Am I falling prey to a democratic-leaning Salon writer cherry-picking annoying shocking excerpts from republican commentators? I hope so. I hope these are cherry-picked for their awfulness.I was thinking (before I even read this hypertension inducing post) that I would like to see a collection of mean spirited, rage inducing things democrats have said to help me keep balance. Obviously though it's easier to be gracious when you win ( ... )

I was fine. I just needed to not listen to, read, or pay any attention to commentators, pundits, etc. for a while. :-) I think I'm more than usually upset by election news becuase now I live in a dyed in the wool red state. I spent 99% of my life in California so it's...different.

Did it ever occur to you that some of us Voters For the Dreaded Obama feared cuts to gummint services for the poor, or single mother households, or the disabled, or other demographic groups TO WHICH WE DO NOT BELONG. You know, our neighbors? Those guys that Jesus said we are to love as we love ourselves? What kind of morons assume that everyone would only vote for bigger government if it “gave them more things and stuff?” Who thinks that way?It actually came out of Papa Bear's mouth, so, either he really believes it, or he's a, a, what do you call those things that can't tell the truth? Oh, yeah, a liar ( ... )

I think lots of the men who donated a gabillion dollars and still didn't get a republican prez are probably a little cheesed off. Did you know there was a city named, "Panormous"? I want to live there.

What amazes me is the vast number of people who will vote for cuts to services that they actually depend on. If people voted on behalf of their wallets, Obama should have won in a landslide.
