I WANT to like you, but I can't tell if you're one of those annoying "omg I train horsez" people, or if you're legit. That video.. wasn't the most flattering training level test I've ever seen. Obviously the horse is green, but then.. why show it? I thought your hands were too low, but I suppose it could have been deliberate, to help steady him. What other levels have you shown? Are you specifically a dressage trainer? It looks like all your pictures are in dressage gear, so I'd assume so. But in one of the photos, there's a western horse tacked up in the background, at a dressage show? Bringing me back to the "legit" question. Who have you trained with? Who DO you train with? (Seriously, name names - I'm very familiar with the dressage world). Maybe I'm getting too indepth and suspicious, but you do seem to be fairly assertive about yourself in that department
( ... )
I realize this is WAY later than ideal. I did read your response, I just haven't had tons of time to respond to livejournal lately. But now I do, so yay.
I would give you names, but I doubt you'd know them since I'm Canadian and they're members or former members of the Dressage Canada/Young Riders team, etc. Rebecca Schoenhardt is my main coach. I am a dressage rider as you know by now because I saw your comments in equestrian, just bought my next Grand Prix beast.. ten years from now, haha. IT'S AN INVESTMENT, K.
Reining = blargh.
I hereby pass you as fellow cool/noncrazy horse person. Woot.
I didn't know you lived in Canada. I used to go to Toronto alllll the time when I was younger (and living in Michigan). I love that city.
I love Winnie! And hey, I totally here the investment argument. I "invested" in a reining horse (that turned out to be unsuitable for reining and became my dressage horse for the next 8 years). But, he was worth every penny.
