I WANT to like you, but I can't tell if you're one of those annoying "omg I train horsez" people, or if you're legit. That video.. wasn't the most flattering training level test I've ever seen. Obviously the horse is green, but then.. why show it? I thought your hands were too low, but I suppose it could have been deliberate, to help steady him. What other levels have you shown? Are you specifically a dressage trainer? It looks like all your pictures are in dressage gear, so I'd assume so. But in one of the photos, there's a western horse tacked up in the background, at a dressage show? Bringing me back to the "legit" question. Who have you trained with? Who DO you train with? (Seriously, name names - I'm very familiar with the dressage world). Maybe I'm getting too indepth and suspicious, but you do seem to be fairly assertive about yourself in that department.

I guess I'm not really judging you on the app, which I suppose was otherwise fairly good. Horse people tend to be highly judgemental of other horse people, since quite often other horse people tend to be insane.

Respondez!

I'm posting again 'cause I just uploaded a userpic of my Hanoverian mare, and I wish I had used it in my comment, but I didn't. Foolish I.

I want to see bigger pictures! She's a very pretty girl. Name? What level? Is this the new mare? Questions! Questions!

Lord, no, I'm not one of those horse people. I hate those horse people.

My hands were low to steady him, you're right. Unfortunately, that's the only video I have of me riding that is fairly recent and doesn't need to be uploaded (can thank the boyfriend for that one; he's the video magician). The gelding is somewhat green, but for some reason he WOULD NOT round up at that show. All three days he was hollow and unresponsive... The next weekend he was great.

And no, I'm not specifically a dressage trainer. I rode (dressage) with Cira Giunti and Debbie Rodriguez in Virginia. I also rode with Ed Fear and Brock Haywood (both have since passed) in reining. I'm currently with Dana DeVice in Colorado in reining.

Oh, in the second picture I was at a schooling show. They had training level test and all the other pleasure (western, english, trail...) classes. I didn't realize all of those pictures were on dressage horses until you said something...

Horse people are very judgmental of other horse people. Where do you ride? It's to be assumed you are a dressage rider, yes?

I realize this is WAY later than ideal. I did read your response, I just haven't had tons of time to respond to livejournal lately. But now I do, so yay.

I would give you names, but I doubt you'd know them since I'm Canadian and they're members or former members of the Dressage Canada/Young Riders team, etc. Rebecca Schoenhardt is my main coach. I am a dressage rider as you know by now because I saw your comments in equestrian, just bought my next Grand Prix beast.. ten years from now, haha. IT'S AN INVESTMENT, K.

Reining = blargh.

I hereby pass you as fellow cool/noncrazy horse person. Woot.

I didn't know you lived in Canada. I used to go to Toronto alllll the time when I was younger (and living in Michigan). I love that city.

I love Winnie! And hey, I totally here the investment argument. I "invested" in a reining horse (that turned out to be unsuitable for reining and became my dressage horse for the next 8 years). But, he was worth every penny.
