Coast Guard ramblings
It's amazing how plans change. B/c I remember back in January that I wanted to join only the Coast Guard reserve and stuff and how I definetly was going into culinary and stuff. But now I'm leaning to not doing the culinary thing. Go to the Coast Guard Academy... become an officer...etc. The academy rocks. But it is EXTREMELY difficult to get into. 6000 apply only 290 get in. One of my best guy friends is wanting to go into the academy too. I kinda talked him into it. hehehe. We both were interested in the CG and I pointed out that they had an academy. and he got really interested into it and so did I. They have a sky diving club. That is awsome. But i'm having my doubts into if I'll be able to get in. To apply you have to be b/t 17 and 22. But when it is over you'll become an officer. I want to be part of the Search and Rescue team. He wants to fly the helicopters. The CG sees more action in peace time than any of the other branches of the military. Well I'm just rambling on and on. Things will work out in due time. I'm just trying to figure out if I wanna just enlist and work my way up or go to the academy. Either way I definetly want to be part of the CG.
