The game's out there, and it's play or get played. That simple.

Hey, I finally managed to put together my Top Fives from that meme I did last week.

For ozmissage, Top 5 shipper moments

Oh man, I am a chronic shipper, so this was really hard! But I did manage to narrow it down to five:

1. Scully: Not everything is about you, Mulder. This is my life.
Mulder: Yes, but it's my...
The X-Files, "Never Again."

I LOVE THIS EPISODE. I know that there are way more “romantic” moments in XF, but for me, none of them compare to the final scene in Never Again. I legit love every single thing about it. How Scully tells Mulder that it’s not about him (even though she knows it IS about him) and then how he pretty much implies that her life IS his life. It’s completely fucked up and uncomfortable and I love it so much. I’d put a clip here, but apparently Fox and Chris Carter hate everyone and don’t let people put XF clips up on Youtube. THANKS A LOT, 1013.

No scene will ever be as adorably perfect as this. Ever.

I debated the vending machine or the kitchen scene. On the one hand, the vending machine has parts of the kitchen scenes, so it’s like two scenes in one. On the other hand, no one’s dead in the kitchen scene. So that's what won. LOOK AT HOW BLONDE AND ATTRACTIVE AND ALIVE EVERYONE IS.

4. Super-intense stand-off with Gitano. SVU, "Fault." Oh man, remember when this show looked-for 42 glorious minutes-like it was going to have some actual character development? And, like, an actual storyline about Olivia/Elliot that had an impact on their relationship? Hahaha. WRONG. But this scene was so intense and amazing. AUGH, I CAN'T FIND THIS ONLINE EITHER. Why is the internet failing me?

5. Jim tells Pam he loves her, The Office, "Casino Night." Okay, yes, Jim and Pam are lame now. But, oh man, this was it for me. I think I may have cried (just like Jim!) during this scene. Also, I love how the whole season was building up to this and Pam’s all dressed up and Jim finally goes for it. And then she kind of quietly breaks his heart. PERFECT. (Aaaaand I can't find any clips of this either. And all the ones on Youtube are parts of fanvids set to Nickelback. Damn you, internet.)

For lowriseflare, Top five moments: Life

1. Sexy cocaine shower (“Pilot”). As if I needed any reason to ship cop partners, the first episode of the whole show gives me an angst-fest in the shower. A+

2. The hand-brushing after Crews kills Nevikov and saves Dani in “One." This whole episode killed me, but the final few minutes were damn near perfect.

3. The police raid Charlie's house, but his wall of revenge is gone. One of my favorite parts of this show is the friendship between Charlie and Ted and the whole storyline where Charlie was under investigation made me super-nervous. So I just really loved how Ted stepped in and protected him here and how Charlie's kind of quietly surprised that anyone would do that for him. Oh, Charlie.

4. Charlie kidnaps Hollis and puts him in his trunk ("Fill it Up.") For some reason, I didn't think I'd like this show because I found Damian Lewis a little off-putting? I'm not sure why--he was great in Band of Brothers and I really liked Winters, but somehow I felt like I liked him in spite of DL. And even though I'd really enjoyed the whole first season of Life, DL still hadn't quite won me over and I didn't quite buy that he was such a bad-ass. But, man, this scene (and this whole episode) totally sold me on him. He's just really hot when he's got someone tied up in the trunk of his car, okay?

5. Charlie's speakerphone conversations with Dani (I don't remember the specific episode, and L has deleted all my Life episodes from his computer because he clearly hates me and doesn't want me to watch partners-in-love). I got really annoyed that Dani was gone for most of the last part of s2. But somehow this scene makes up for it? I'm a huge sucker for two people who just get each other when no one else understands, and the speakerphone scenes are like a light, fluffy version of that. ADORBS.

and Top five quotes: The Wire

1. Avon [to Stringer]: I ain't no suit-wearin' businessman like you. You know, I'm just a gangster, I suppose. And I want my corners.
Oh god, oh god. Avon and Stringer just break my heart into a million pieces. And they did even before s3. But after that-how Stringer takes Avon out, because the streets always win out over friendships and Avon is just not what the business is anymore-I just…god, I can’t ever get over the tragedy of this. One of the best things about The Wire is how it plays out these nuances and doesn’t take the easy way out.

2. Omar: You come at the king, you best not miss.
OMAR IS THE BEST CHARACTER OF ALL THE CHARACTERS.

3. Bubbles: Thin line between heaven and here.
Remember how I just said Omar is the best? That’s totally true, except for how Bubs is the best. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH AND I’M SO HAPPY HE HAD A HAPPY ENDING (or, at least, as happy as The Wire can allow).

4. Senator Clay Davis: SHIIIIIIIIIIT
This doesn’t need an explanation.

5. Slim Charles: Don't matter who did what to who at this point. Fact is, we went to war and there ain't no turnin' back. I mean, shit, it's what war is, you know? Once you in it, you in it. If it's a lie, then we fight on that lie. But we gotta fight.
Slim Charles is pretty much the coolest.

For hondagirll, Top five Bones episodes

1. "The Woman in Limbo," season 1. Confession: I watched the original ariring of the pilot and had to turn it off halfway through because I hated it so much. But then I heard that David Duchovny was directing the s1 finale, so I watched. And, oh man, am I glad I did. I legit think this is the best episode of the show, ever.

2. "Aliens in a Spaceship," season 2. Oh man, I was so anxious throughout this whole episode. The Gravedigger plotline ended kinda lame, but the whole idea of a serial killer who buries people alive was really horrifying. Plus, I adored the interactions between Brennan and Hodgins and seeing everyone work together to find them. And the rescue at the end of the episode makes my Booth/Brennan shipper heart skip a beat.

3. "The Man in the Fallout Shelter," season 1. Cute episode or cutest episode? IDK, but Booth with a tie around his head is never wrong. Plus, I'm a sucker for holiday-themed episodes.

4. "The Glowing Bones in the Old Stone House," season 2. OH, HODGINS. He is the most adorable person in the world and his sushi proposal makes what’s really a mediocre episode into one of my favorites. Angela/Hodgins is like the platonic ideal of tv ships and I can’t wait to see their adorable, adorable baby.

5. "The Woman in the Sand," season 2. BOOTH AND BRENNAN ARE UNDERCOVER IN VEGAS AND PRETENDING TO BE IN LOVE AND THEY DRESS UP IN FANCY CLOTHES. I think my favorite thing about this show (and also, strangely, the reason I never super got into fandom for it), is that there are so many episodes that read like straight-up fanfic. And this is my favorite of them all.

A-apparently I really like the first two seasons?

For whatismuch, Top 5 Mulder/Scully screencaps

1. Memento Mori / 2. Never Again / 3. The Unnatural / 4. Paper Clip / 5. Home

and Top 5 Unpopular Fandom Opinions

1. LOST. "Exposé" love.

2. THE X-FILES. I love "Never Again." Is this unpopular? IDEK. But one of my bffs (who is my real-life XF soulmate) HATES this episode, to the point where she won’t even talk about it. Whatevs. I love it. Top 5, for sure. First of all: the tattoo scene is HOT. Second of all, pretty much this whole episode is about how in love M/S are with each other and how that’s tearing them apart because they can’t admit it. That kind of angst is pretty much my shipping bread and butter, you guys. Which brings me to:

3. THE X-FILES, #2. I hate the “You were my constant, my touchstone. / And you were mine” exchange from “The Sixth Extinction II: Amor Fati.” UGH, IT’S SO SINCERE AND CHEESY. I hate sincerity. It makes me super-uncomfortable. That...sounds crazy. But it’s true. Anytime someone confesses something and is super-sincere about it, I get embarrassed and feel like I need to look away. And this scene is the ultimate in that. And it’s not just the sincerity, it’s also the baseball hat and the forehead kissing and just...all of it makes me cringe. It’s the very definition of what M/S aren’t to me and I hate everything about it. GO BACK TO SITTING UNCOMFORTABLY TOGETHER IN THE BASEMENT, YOU GUYS. THAT WAS HOT.

4. BTVS. I feel like this might be Buffy/Spike shipper sacrilege, but I really don't like that scene in "Touched" where they end up, like, cuddling on a bed in some random house after they have a deep conversation about how much Spike loves her. Ugh, since when do Buffy and Spike do sincere declarations of admiration followed by awkward cuddling? If I wanted to see that, I’d ship Buffy/Angel. But I don’t because I WANT TO SEE ROUGH SEX AND MAKEOUTS IN THE SHADOWS, NOT FULLY-CLOTHED DECLARATIONS ABOUT CHAMPIONS IN LOVE.

5. VERONICA MARS. I love Veronica/Weevil. I legit don’t understand why people don’t ship these two. I know Veronica/Logan is the main ship in this fandom (Bonus unpopular opinion: V/L is honestly the one ship-in all of the shows I watch-that I really, truly do not understand), but Veronica/Weevil is where it’s at. They’re both so adorable and tiny and spunky! SO CUTE.

In other fandom news, I've discovered that I may have a new show: The Walking Dead. Is anyone else as in love with this show as I am? Is there a fandom yet? Because I seriously love it so much.

In closing: I’ve signed up for the lostsquee holiday fic-exchange and you should too! Also, I'm thinking of participating in yuletide this year. Does anyone else have any experience with it? Is it lots of fun? Or is writing for tiny fandoms stressful?

svu, the x-files, btvs, lost, gilmore girls, life, meme, i watch too much tv
