i'm watching The Nutcracker on PBS as the snow continues to fall outside. i'm enjoying a cup of peppermint icecream with two little gingerbread men in it. it's so yummy and festive it fills me with warm excitement, knowing we will have a white Christmas. it's been a very Christmassy week. We saw A Christmas Carol and i LOVED it! it was visually one of the most stunning things i think i've ever seen at the movies. i'm totally buying it when it comes out on DVD for next year's Christmas movie marathon. Today i have been wrapping presents and getting the baked goods that i made packaged for tomorrow. Hopefully we'll make it to Ft. Collins ok. We should be fine with the Volvo, i think. i baked for at least four hours yesterday-chocolate chip cookies with cinnamon and orange extract so they taste like chocolate covered orange peels, mint chocolate marshmellow bark, and eagle brands. With the left over buckeyes and peanut brittle, we will have plenty of sweets (too many, really!). For the first time ever, we will break with Christmas tradition and have ribs instead of ham tomorrow. Ironically, i am the one who suggested this. it's going to be so good.
i am brimming with warm and fuzzy nostalgic excitement. i feel this is ishaping up to be perfect Christmas, with perfect weather, festive food and music, and i am so excited to see everyone tomorrow. This will be the first Christmas where Cooper will be really concious and excited about and everything that is going on. it will so great to watch him open presents and get excited about Santa coming! yay!
i wish all of you and yours a very Merry Christmas the next two days!
