from an allston cyber cafe, and they stubbornly refuse to serve me booze. with

For those of you who've been hiding under rocks & have missed the news, or the
nice shiny flyers this Tuesday - August 2nd - is Bottle Rocket's 4th and final aniversary. It's all
over, so we're going out with one hell of a bang!
We're kicking off the night with Gene Dante & The Future Starlets - Gene was the
man(?) responsible for the ICA & Axis productions of Hedwig & The Angry Inch -
and you may even have some blurry memories of their set at BR's 3rd aniversary
last year.
Obviously is wouldn't be an aniversary - or any other sort of special occasion -
at Bottle Rocket without the Glamourous fucking Stuntcocks. They've been with us
from the first, through more lineup changes (theirs and ours), sprayed beer,
smashed instruments and cake fights than any of us can clearly remember. Don't
know what they're planning for this round, but it'll definitely be messy.
Since this is something of a special occasion, we've got something of a special
guest... Actually one hell of a special guest, warming up for a headlining gig
in the big room at Paradise. To keep with the theme, they're playing as Cocks
and Robbers - but it's the Cock Of A Rhino, and a heart to match. I can't print
more than that (i probably shouldn't even print that much), but trust me, this
is one set you don't want to miss. (ask me privately for more info)
As usual, DJs purp & Clay N. Ferno will be blasting all the usual Fucked Up
Music For Fucked Up People before, after, and in between the bands... there'll
be plenty of cake to eat and/or wear, cheap booze, free limited edition bottle
rocket pins, and i might even have a few patches left in the depths of the BR
vault for early arrivals.
For the truely hardcore, there'll be an afterparty at Chez Rockit in LA (Lower
Allston). Starter booze will be supplied, but the more you bring, the better
the chances of making this a truely epic disaster.
