Hello end of the year 2010

Dec 27, 2010 15:08

I purchased a 2 month paid account so that I could do a mass transfer and make everything before 2009 private. Man, there was some stuff even I didn't want to read from 2000.

It's been a busy few months.

I went to Pawley's Island, South Carolina in September. I love the Carolina beaches and Pawley's is the best in my book. I love the history in those towns.

I went on a month long road trip in October. On the list of stops were:
* Laughlin, NV (casinos on the Colorado River)
* Phelen, CA, (Harris Hot House Chili Cookoff)
* Los Angeles (Hermosa Beach, Venice Beach, taping of Craig Furguson Show, Sunset Blvd)
* North on California Hwy 1 (amazing ocean views from the cliffs, Elephant Seals)
* San Luis Obispo Bay (wine tasting)
* Morro Bay (wine tasting, sunning sea lions, feeding sea gulls)
* Big Sur State Park (camping, Sequoias, Redwoods, hiking)
* Monterey Bay (foggy views, kayakers, swimming sea lions)
* San Francisco (Golden Gate Bridge, China Town, Little Italy, piers, Alcatraz, the World Series, trolleys, Golden Gate State Park, live jazz, fabulous food, Mission District, Hispanic bars, visiting friends)
* Oakland (Berkley)
* Las Vegas (Firefly restaurant, penny slots, Green Valley Ranch buffet, visiting with family)
* Fayetteville, AR (college town good times, downtown square farmer's market, state parks, Catfish Hole, celebration with family, seeing the family farm [chickens!])
* and HOME!

I started a new job last month when I got back, which has made me much happier. It's closer to my home and I like the people I work with. I'm even working with a couple girls that I went to school with.

On a more somber note, I had a loss of a friend a few months ago that, even though we were never best friends by any means, I always felt a special kindredship with. That has left a void in my universe. It has definitely been a reminder to make the most out of the moments that I have with the ones in my life. Sometimes it's hard to make time for everyone, but just reaching out for a moment can, I hope, make the difference by letting them know I'm thinking of them.

Overall, life is good. I had good times over the holidays. I visited with many sides of my families. Spending time with my cousins and their children is always enjoyable. And I like being able to hang out and laugh with my sisters and mother.

I hope you have all enjoyed your holidays, as well.
