i definitely did not spend my weekend preparing for nano like i was supposed to. instead i went to a halloween party, slept, watched supernatural (eh) and project runway (i call bullshit), slept, watched sherlock about 6 times, slept, finished s1 of arrested development (not funny!), gave up and started watching psych again, slept some more, and spent too much time on webkinz. this bodes well for november!

so i guess now i'll try to do an outline for my story and see if i can remember how i did my spreadsheet last year. (what kind of an asshole doesn't save her nano spreadsheet?! ugh.) i'm still kind of tired though. there was lots of driving and then staying up too late last week!

speaking of last week, i read nothing feels good by andy greenwald on thursday. it's about how emo evolved from its start in the dc hardcore scene to dashboard confessional. about half the book is about the emo scene i came up in (dashboard, taking back sunday, thursday, new found glory, etc) so it was like reliving my freshman year of college with some actual perspective. i didn't think of it as emo music (except for dashboard), but pretty much all i listened to that year was pop-punk that is apparently classified as emo, and even the bands i didn't listen to (thursday) were on my mind (a boy gave me a mix cd full of thursday and other hardcore bands) and talked about a lot. anyway, i really liked the book, and i also really liked the excuse to text message simplykatie back and forth for a bit that afternoon, since i miss her face. anyway, two thumbs up, would now really like the book about mcr and fall out boy that should come next.

books: music, nano: crack-colored glasses
