This came up in a business email today:

Please communicate with my colleague Jim Bob, who is cc:ed on this email.

This version implies I have multiple colleagues, of whom Jim Bob is one.

But suppose we put a comma after "colleague":

Please communicate with my colleague, Jim Bob, who is cc:ed on this email.
