It's Been THAT kind of week....

The Shits. Duke still has not passed his kidney stone and is in a lot of pain from it. It is makin him very Bearish... and I can't blame him for that. Since Tuesday a week ago, we have been to the ER 3 times, to his doc twice and the hospital once for the ultrasound, which the ultrasounder didn't know why she was doing it, so it appears that will be useless. We couldn't get an appointment with his doc until Monday to progress further to a urologist.

Meanwhile last Friday I dumped the bike Again! [too much back brake while stoppin for a yellow light]. I'm embarassed as hell about it. My confidence is in shreads. I've gotten some good info and support from Dj on the Rebel message board, but I'm too embarassed to post it to the whole group. I was able to ride home, the Reb has a few more scrapes than before, but no other damage. On the bright side I didn't hit my head this time. Good ridin gear is worth havin, and I'm glad I've got good gear.

I'm feelin I'm out there on my own on this. I'm distressed that I don't have a good grip on some basics such as countersteering, counterweighting, leaning appropriately in turns, and swerving. I know what they mean, but cannot get a good handle on doing them. At Dj's suggestion I got a couple of books by Hough on the subject, so I will be doing a lot of reading, but I've come to the conclusion that to ride safely I need some individual riding instruction. After I heal I will be checking around to see if any is available. I just cannot seem to get it on my own, and that makes my confidence even thinner, those parts that actually still exist.

"After I heal" - when the bike when down I landed on my left wrist, the doc says it's Not broken, but I have a very serious sprain. I have other brusies and sore spots. Along with that I feel as if I'm fightin off some bug. I'm sleepin a lot and have times where I feel icky and achy. It's rainin for the next few days so I'm off work for several reasons - and for me no work = no pay.

Well enough whinin....
