Vacation: Part Final

Friday the 4th: Disney's Animal Kingdom and DownTown Disney
This morning Cameron, his mom, and my parents went to go have breakfast with Mickey Mouse. This leaves Colleen, my brother, and myself behind to relax in the morning (remember, Colleen had a princess breakfast the day before). I ran out to the local "trading post" to pick up a gift for a friend, and around noon we departed to meet the others at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Disney's Animal Kingdom: Here my bro and I rode the new roller coaster ride - some runaway train ride across a giant mountain where you encounter a yeti - while the kids ran through the dinosaur land. Once we met up, we grabbed lunch while watching a street parade (with Timon, Stitch, Rafiki, Donald, Goofy, Mickey, and more). After that, we got in line for the Wild Safari just in time before it closed! It's a driving tour to see several African animals - basically a safari through a well-designed zoo that hides the fences very well behind thick vegetation! Well done, Disney!

DownTown Disney: After that, dad went back to the RV and the kids and the moms split off to go back to the Magic Kingdom to get the kids balloons. This leaves my brother Eric and I to see DownTown Disney. We visited the shops there, saw a giant Gundam made out of LEGOs, and more. Saw a lady painting on Christmas baubles, a classical animator drawing tracings of Minnie Mouse on an Animator's Wheel (very cool, got to talk to him about animation), and grabbed dinner at an upscale Italian restaurant called Portabello's. It was delicious - we split spaghetti, minestone soup, a fruit punch drink, and tiramasu. Damn what a fine night.

But it ended too soon. The moment we returned to the RV at 10pm it was packed up and ready to roll...

Saturday the 5th: A travel day home.
Dad drove all night and finally took a break for mom to drive around 10am... we arrived home at 5pm - still light out! This was a record time. We unpacked and got ready for bed, when something VERY unexpected happened.

But you'll have to wait for tomorrow for this super-surprise!!

Sunday the 6th (Today): pack and drive home.
Finished packing to return to West Lafayette and resume Purdue classes. Before going, mom and Eric revealed they secretly bought me a fox-shaped teapot in the China section of the Epcot Center while I was off looking for fortune cookies and distracted by the glass fox figurine. Sneaky! But I was happy to see it - I had seen it one year ago, and now I have one for myself! Awesome! Since I know both of them read my journal, thank you again very much!

After that, dad took off. Soon my bro and mom left as well, and then I left too. Jaime and the grandkids left for their home later in the afternoon. Once I got back, I unpacked a bit, then went to a friends place (saw Tim, Marvin, Jasper, Agius, Drew, Tyran, Brandon). I passed out some various gifts I had bought people while on vacation. And now I'm back and about to relax when... the fire alarm went off! Just a false alarm though. Back to relaxing!!
