One, Two, Freddie's Coming For You

Nov 19, 2009 08:50

I finally had a dream about Freddie Krueger while wearing my Freddie shirt I sometimes sleep in. But it wasn't a nightmare... for me.

The first part of the dream was about a little girl Freddie was preying on. At one point, she hid under the bed to get away from him. He's laying on top of the bed, talking to her, tormenting her. Her mom opens the door, Freddie dissappears- all she can see his her daughter hiding under the bed.

"What are you doing down there, silly goose?"

"Hiding from the boogeyman."

Mom crouches down to look at her daughter; Freddie reappears on the bed. He grins and runs his claws over the air right above the mom's back.

"Honey, there's no such thing as-" She pauses as she hears a gravely voice whispering above her. "What was that?"

The little girl looks at her, utterly frightened. "The monster under my bed."

That part of the dream ended before the girl or her mom died. It then transitioned to the next part of the dream... Which was in the Watchmen universe (well, a Watchmen AU, as it seemed to be set in present day, but using characters from Watchmen). Also, it seems that in these dreams of mine, Freddie is able to manifest himself fully in the real world if he so desires.

It opens with a shot of Laurie and Dan chatting in a grocery store, where they both apparently work. Dan leaves to go help a customer, leaving Laurie by herself. A guy comes up and asks for a refund on something he bought. Laurie does the refund and turns around to put the returned item of to the side. When she turns back around, the guy is already gone. She thinks nothing of it and goes back to doing her job. The camera pans back, revealing a pool of blood where the guy had been standing.

The dream then cuts to a few minutes later when Walter approaches Laurie (apparently Walter works back in the meat department; this amuses me for some reason XD) and they talk for a minute before Walter walks off, slightly disgruntled. Laurie shakes her head, somewhat amused.

Cut to Walter's apartment. He's sitting on his bed, holding the Rorschach mask in his hands, rubbing his thumbs over it. He sighs, starts to slip it on, pauses, then takes it back off and sets it in a drawer in his nightstand. Not tonight. He's too tired. He lays down and shuts his eyes.

Cut to his dream. Freddie shows up and torments Rorschach. Eventually, he causes him to flashback to a time in Walter's childhood when his mom was being shoved into a room by an upset "customer".

"FUCKING WHORE" The man is screaming as child!Walter watches. His mom is yelling back. As the door starts to close, she looks at Walter and reaches out her hand to him.

"Walter! Help your mother!"

Walter reaches forward, but is kicked by the man. He falls over and the man kicks him again before locking his mom in the room. Under the door, Walter can still see his mom groping around, like she's still trying to get his hand, so he feebly reaches forward. When his hand is fully stretched out across the floor, Freddie appears and stabs through his hand with his claws. child!Walter turns back into a screaming Rorschach.

"LEAVE ME ALONE!"

And Walter wakes up, his hand is bleeding from where it had been stabbed in the dream. He gets up and tries to fix it as best he can.

Cut to Walter going back to work the next day, his hand bandaged. There's police tape outside the store. He spots Dan talking to a police officer, so he waits until he's done to approach him. His friend looks absolutely sickened by the time he talks to him.

"Daniel?" He's frowning and ignoring the pain in his hand. "What happened?"

"When one of the bagger's walked into the meat cooler, he found..." Daniel chokes up, "He found Laurie. Someone killed her, Walter."

Cut to photo-like images of Laurie, who is cut to shreds and lying in a pool of blood. Handprints and words cover the wall. Most of the words are indistinguishable, but thephrase "Freddie's Back" is still readable.

Cut back to Dan and Walter.

"Had bad dream last night." Walter mutters, holding up his injured hand. The bandages is soaked in blood.

"He almost got you too?"

Walter nods. "Woke up before he finished."

"Thank god he didn't. I couldn't handle losing both you and Laurie."

Then my alarm went off, effectively interrupting my dream. :( I want to know what happened next! D:

For your time, the high-def preview of the remake of Nightmare on Elm Street.
