Ok... when I last left off, we had made an offer for a house for $14K less than the asking price, but pretty much the going rate in the area for the type of house.
The sellers made a counter offer on Tuesday for $5K less then the selling price.
We countered the counter offer for $7K less. The sellers said they could do that if they pulled the plasma TV they were including off the table. We said "no problem."
The sellers accepted, and will sign the papers tomorrow. :-)
One more major hurdle cleared. The home inspection (and related inspections) are next.
43 days to go.
In other news, J starts her Young Scholars Program on Saturday. I'll be spending most of the day in the car making the 350-mile round trip to Washington, DC. I'm planning on leaving around 8 AM. We don't have to be at the program until 1:30 for check-in. That leaves us with 5 1/2 hours to make a (normally) three-hour trip. We'll see what havoc weekend traffic wreaks. LOL
We collect J on Thursday. Two drives to Washington in a week. It's a good thing my ***stiiiiiiiiick Shiiiiiiiiift*** car is less than a year old. :-)
trystan830 is on vacation next week. I'll be off on Thursday (to pick up J) and part of Friday. Not sure what we'll do yet... but packing sounds like a good idea. LOL
At least my class for work ends next week, and trystan830 computer classes end 8/12, so both of us will have more time to dedicate to packing and moving. Just in time, too....
C still has some tests to take, though, before becoming fully certified.
The official move date is September 12. Our company picnic is September 14 (probably will end up being a nice break from unpacking), and I'll be going to Dover for the NASCAR race on September 21 with my brother. That'll be fun. :-)
