Out of flipping NOWHERE we doubled our amount of applicants for the Camp-Out on the day of the deadline. Hilarious. So now we have a variety of new issues to consider because we’re five people over our cut-off. But it’s a good thing!
Fefe Dobson has a new song out and I saw the video (or two videos? It seems to be two songs and one channel only plays the first one, it’s confusing) four times yesterday. She’s channelling this whole Joan Jett thing. Or maybe it’s like Demi Lovato meets Karen O. Whatever. Loving it.

I was flipping channels and stumbled onto a doc called Shameless: The Art of Disability. Described thusly “Filmmaker Bonnie Sherr Klein explores disability culture and the transformative power of art after suffering a stroke.”. Admittedly I stopped to watch because two of the people featured had lesbian partners. But it was a really neat film that I’m glad I took in.
MTN News was all “Canucks to be features on new DJ Tiesto album…” and I’m all ‘please say Tegan and Sara!’ after he did a highly successful remix of your Back In Your Head and they sure did! Along with Emily Haines. I am so very excited for both of those tracks, I can’t even tell you. Tiesto isn’t exactly a trance genius, but he’s no Benassi-level hack. I got a call midway through yesterday that I wouldn’t be needed to work the Bennett booth at Folk Fest last night. This wouldn’t be too annoying but it was presented as “You know how we said that we might need you to work tonight? Well we don’t, we’re good, so you don’t have to come in.” uh…actually? You didn’t say you ‘might’ need me. You offered me a shift and I took it. There was no maybe at the time. I was just like “Oh, alrighty.” but I was actually pissed. This in combination with eliminating my Thursday shift and having me come in on Tuesday just to say they didn’t need me (which I know means they have to pay me for 3 hours, but I didn’t feel like making a stink) has all around left me really annoyed. One actual and short shift worked out of 4. I’m making very little money out of this whole thing and I’m rather annoyed with them continually dicking me around.
Apparently Elizabeth Keener came out. Sort of. Or wasn’t in to begin with. I’m not quite sure. She’s dating Jamie Lauren from Top Chef who’s pretty much the only lesbian Top Chef I don’t remember. Maybe I forgot to watch season 5.
