Can he help her overcome it? Can she clear the misunderstanding that was created?  Days passed by and ever since Jin told Kazuya that he's also a writer, the latter insisted he read his books. Jin felt somewhat honored, but also a bit concerned about it. However, when Kazuya told him he liked what he read, he was relieved. The older one moved in with Kazuya - after the younger one insisted so much and even talked to Jin's mom - eventually. The younger one was so happy because of that that whenever Jin returned, he'd run and hug him, Ran-chan doing the same as her master. Kazuya was aware that he had changed, ever since he started waiting everyday for Jin to return so they could eat together, and started liking it. He liked the way the older one changed him and how cheerful he was. He eventually found himself a part time job for the time being and was working pretty hard. In the afternoon, after the older one arrived, they'd go out in the park and play some baseball, once or twice even Reio joining them, together with their dogs.

One day, after Kazuya returned from work, he cooked lunch - Jin taught him some basic recipes - and waited for the older one, knowing that he would return soon. He sat in front of the TV and munched on some Pocky he had around the house, filling up his time until they ate lunch, also playing with his dog. He was browsing the channels when he came across the news. Something caught his eye and decided to leave it there. Right when he was about to take a bite out of the sweets, the chocolate covered stick fell out of his hand as he read the title.

“Baseball player Nakano Ryuichi(32) died today at the Yamamura Clinic. He was the victim of a car accident which took place a few weeks ago. The driver was the prodigy of baseball from the national team, Kamenashi Kazuya (22), who was eventually suspended from the team for an indefinite period of time. Kamenashi-san has also spent thirty days in prison for-” He turned the TV off, not wanting to hear anymore of that upsetting news. Panic started taking over him as he processed the information. He let the remote control fall out of his hand as he curled up into a ball on the floor as he realized what that meant, his lawyer telling that if the other player had died, he would get quite a few years after bars. And now that he indeed died... well, Kazuya didn't know how to prove he was innocent. Soon his tears started falling slowly down his cheeks, a state in which Jin found him when he arrived not long after. As he felt the older one's strong arms bringing him to his chest, he grabbed the back of his suit jacket tight and buried his face at Jin's chest.

“Jin.... he died... Nakano-san died.” he let out through pretty violent sobs. Jin caressed his hair and held him tight, trying to calm him down. “What am I going to do? I don't want to be sentenced for life.” The soft kiss that was placed on his head made Kazuya look at his friend. “Promise me you won't let them take me away. Please...” Jin nodded and held his pinky finger up, Kazuya curling his own around it. The older one smiled and raised Kazuya up, taking him to the bedroom and placed him on the bed. When he wanted to get up, Kazuya gripped his jacket tight. “Please don't leave me alone.” Jin sat back down, seeing as he couldn't resist the younger one's plea and the fact that he was crying... it just made his heart ache. He stayed with him, caressing his face and trying to calm him down, until the younger one fell asleep.

Kazuya woke up a few hours later in an empty bed, only Ran-chan curled up against him.

“Jin?” he let out as he got up and strolled to the kitchen. “Jin, what are you doing?” Kazuya said as he rubbed his swollen eyes. The older one got up from the papers he was working on and approached the younger one.

“How are you feeling?”

“I'm... not ok.”

“Why don't you go lie back down again? You need the rest.”

“But I...”

Kazuya didn't end his sentence as Jin grabbed his shoulders and led him back to the bedroom. Just when they entered, Kazuya turned around and hugged Jin loosely.

“I don't want to go back there... one month was too much for me and I don't want it to turn into years. Not now. Not ever.” He whispered and felt a sweet kiss on his forehead. “It will be only a matter of time until they find me.” he sighed as he let go of Jin and sat on the bed, the older one following his actions. As they sat there in silence, Jin put an arm around Kazuya's shoulders and brought him close. Kazuya was feeling lost ever since he had heard the news. He couldn't prove his own innocence and that saddened him the most, because he was finally alive and wanted to live his new life. Of course he was still in love with baseball, but ever since it disappointed him a bit, his love for the sport started decreasing bit by bit and it was only because of the fact that his family didn't know how or didn't want to support him. He realized that he needed more than just money and fame to feel happy and complete; and what he had with Jin was more than he could ask for, be it friendship or... more. So if he had to choose between his career in baseball and a family that was cold towards him or living a quiet life in his own apartment, surrounded by warmth and love... he'd choose the second.

*

The next day he received a phone call from Koji, telling him that the police went by their house to look for him. But the older brother kept quiet. He didn't tell their father what Kazuya had done in the past weeks, so he couldn't tell the police either until he checked with the younger one. Kazuya asked him again if he had found any evidence that he wasn't the one who provoked the accident, but his older brother said he didn't find anything. Kazuya was worried about that fact and was desperate; he didn't want to do time for someone else. He didn't want to be alone as he was almost his whole life, surrounded by those awful men in prison. He wouldn't be able to bare it.

That night and the following day, Kazuya tried adjusting to the thought that he might actually be imprisoned for something he didn't do. He didn't even go to work, choosing to stay at home and wait for Jin, to spend some time with him before turning himself in willingly. He decided that on his own, knowing that it might hurt the man he fell in love with. He realized that fact that morning, when he woke up and didn't find Jin next to him. He stared at the cold space next to him and decided he didn't like it. He wanted to see the older one there, sleeping peacefully every morning.

Kazuya couldn't even eat breakfast, instead sitting himself in front of the TV, watching anything but the news, as he didn't want to change his mind. When he got bored, he thought of trying to cook something for the both of them, knowing Jin would return soon.

He was still struggling with himself, even though he had made his decision. He didn't want to create another scandal and that's why he thought it was best to turn himself in, even if he wasn't to blame. But seeing that no new witnesses or evidences were found... he just had to try to live with it. When Jin returned, he found Kazuya in front of the stove, deep in thought and even noticed traces of tears on his face. The younger one was startled when he felt a pair of arms encircling his waist and a soft kiss on the crook of his neck. He smiled when the older one turned him around and placed a another one on his lips.

“Okaeri.”

“Tadaima. What are you cooking?” Jin smiled and looked over Kazuya's shoulder to see what was in the pot that smelled so good.

“Just something I found on the internet and I thought it sounded good.” he let out and turned back to the stove. “Will you put some plates on the table while I finish this?” Kazuya asked and felt a kiss on his shoulder. His tears were on the verge of falling out of his eyes as he felt so much warmth around him. He didn't want to leave it behind, he just didn't.

When he finished the food, he split it in two and sat down at the table, starting to eat. He couldn't look at Jin, knowing that he wouldn't be able to keep his promise to himself.

“Why are you so silent? What happened?”

“Huh? Um... nothing. I'm just... tired.”

“Are you sure it's not the fact that the other guy died?”

“N-no. Of course not.”

“If you say so...”

A pretty heavy silence lay over them, each busy with his own thoughts, a silence that made Jin feel a bit uncomfortable.

“Why don't we go over to my place? Mom misses you.” he smiled, trying to cheer the other one up.

“Ok.” Kazuya let out and got up to clean the table, seeing that they finished eating. When he was about to take Jin's plate, the older one gripped his hand, took the rest of the dishes out of his hands, placing them on the table, and got up. He looked at Kazuya for a few moments, trying to find out what was bothering him, but didn't succeed. At least he was sure something was bothering the younger man. He brought Kazuya closer to himself and hugged him tight, placing a kiss on his temple. But soon Kazuya escaped the embrace, not looking at Jin. “I'll wash the dishes and then we can go to your place.” he said and proceeded in doing so.

They soon left the apartment and took their time walking to the Akanishi residence. All the way there, Jin tried cheering Kazuya up, playing with Ran-chan and making her do all sorts of flips. He could almost see a smile on the younger one's face. But then Kazuya stopped dead in his tracks as his smile also disappeared, worrying Jin.

“Jin... I have to tell you something.” he let out, looking at the ground. “I want to... give myself in. I mean... I don't want to create another scandal and-” he stopped when he suddenly felt pulled into a hug. “I-” a hand was placed over his mouth, preventing him from speaking further. Jin then released him.

“I was pretty sure that was bothering you. You don't have to do that.” he smiled and pulled him along. When they arrived at Jin's place, the two were welcomed by the older one's mother and brother. She invited them to eat together, but when Jin told him they had already eaten, she insisted until they accepted. The atmosphere was a quiet one, the lady asking the two questions once in a while. After they finished eating, Kazuya offered to wash the dishes and Jin's mom didn't mind. But she must have sensed that something was wrong with the young man, as she told him she'd keep him company.

“Why are you upset, Kazuya-kun?”

“I'm not... upset, Akanishi-san.”

“Don't tell me you're tired, because I won't believe you. You're just like my son when it comes to this.”
“Well, I... things just got a lot more complicated. Nakano-san died and now I'll have to go to jail.” he said in the calmest tone possible, scaring himself.

“But don't they know you're not the one who caused it?”

“They couldn't find a witness.”

“Maybe someone wanted him dead and just used you.”

“But who would want to hurt him and me as well?”

“Maybe it's someone from-” she stopped talking as both of them heard some voices coming from the hallway. She went ahead to see what was going on, telling Kazuya to stay there. The younger one moved to the door and tried listening to what they were talking about.

“What can I do for you, officers?”

“We're here to take Kamenashi-san into custody. We were told he was hiding here.”

“Why would you take him in?”

“We cannot tell you that, ma'am.”

“Well then... of you can't tell me, then you're trespassing. So I will have to ask you to leave.”

“Step away, please. We have to search for him. He's wanted for manslaughter.”

“Do you have a court order to search my house?”

“No, but-”

“Then why-” she cut his words short, but then stopped, seeing Kazuya approaching them.

“Thank you, Akanishi-san, but if they came after me, I should just let them take me. I don't want to cause you any inconveniences.” He walked over to the policemen, ready to be taken away, when he saw Jin out of the corner of his eyes, walking towards them.

“What are you doing?” the expression he had on his face was breaking Kazuya's heart.

“I'm... I...” He then felt Jin's hand folding around his wrist and was taken away. “Jin, what are you doing?” he let out when they were in the room where Kazuya used to sleep in.

“What the hell's wrong with you?” The younger one saw his cheeks filled with tears.

“Jin, it's better this way... I can-” he shut up when he felt Jin's lips over his in a demanding and powerful kiss. It was different from the others, Kazuya sensing also frustration in it. But he didn't let himself give into the feeling surrounding him, a feeling that was driving him mad with love and also anger. That mix of want, need, frustration and love made his tears fall in small rivers down his white cheeks, and Kazuya pulled himself apart. “I'm sorry, I have to go.” he said without looking at Jin, struggling out of the powerful embrace. He managed to do it and walked to the door, looking back just once. As he opened the door, he saw the policemen right in front, waiting for him. It was already over between them, something that hadn't even started. Kazuya felt a strong pain in his chest as he was taken away. They were still in the hallway, the policemen cuffing Kazuya's wrists, when Jin appeared again.

“D-don't t-take him away... p-please...” A hoarse yet soft voice was heard.

Kazuya froze hearing those words, that... voice. He turned around and saw Jin kneeling on the floor, his head almost reaching it.

“We're sorry, but we have to do out job. Please stand up.” One of the officers said and opened the door.

“Jin...” Kazuya whispered. He couldn't believe the fact that Jin... spoke.

“He is not... the one who... is responsible for Nakano-san's death.” It was still a bit difficult for Jin to speak after so many years, but he seemed to be doing his best. He got up and faced only the officers.

“What do you mean, son?” The older officer asked.

“I-I saw wh-what happened that night.”

“Come with us down to the station, then, so we can hear to what you have to say. But I'm afraid we still have to take your young friend into custody.”

Onto the next part. What happens?
