FT Dix around 1:00am on Thursday morning, 26 June 08. Their expected arrival

GEORGE IS HOME

Middle son, George, called from Bangor, Maine just a few moments ago.
They are on a two hour lay-over on the way to points south.  He will be there for just a few days and then back here to Maine for the HOME-COMING ceremonies and stuff.

GEORGE IS STATESIDE and will be HOME soon.

Middle Son, George, checked-in today.  He tells me that he is at 160K.  That is to say, he is 160 K West of Ramaadi, at an old water pumping installation; which has been converted to accommodate an Iraqi Police Station.  He was in Ramaadi for the day and therefore had internet access.  The FOB 160K does not have regular internet access, showers, or ( Read more... )

Well, the George's National Guard Unit is off to Rhode Island to meet up with the other part of their contingent. They will be returning on June 29th, for a brief respite and then depart for New Jersey on July 5th. After 70 days of intensive training and gearing up, they will proceed to Kuwait for 2 weeks.
